Central Alberta rodeo draws big crowds

BOWDEN — Another successful Bowden Daze Pro Rodeo is on the program.

The event took place July 12-14 at the Bowden Agricultural Society rodeo grounds south of town.

Although the weather forecasts were often bad, the weather was eventually good and the stands were full.

A big highlight was when rodeo clown Dennis Halstead drove his bathtub-shaped “tubmobile” through a real fire ring.

The trick riders amazed the audience. The sheep riding and wild pony races were also popular.

Brooklyn Van Sickle was crowned the 2024 Bowden Rodeo Queen.
