Colin Cowherd might want to do a little more research the next time he interviews New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter live on TV.

On Monday, Jeter appeared on Cowherd’s show “The Herd” on FOX. When Cowherd tried to ask Jeter about rising Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, the FOX host falsely claimed that Jeter was in “the Nolan Ryan era.”

Jeter didn’t just let Cowherd go.

“Paul Skenes (of the) Pirates, dominant guy. Overwhelming. You were clearly in the Nolan Ryan era,” Cowherd said before being cut off by Jeter.

“No,” Jeter replied. “No, no, no, no, no, no. I never confronted Nolan. Take it easy. Take it easy. No, I was way after Nolan. Far, far, far after Nolan.”

Ryan had the longest MLB career in history. The Hall of Famer pitched 27 seasons in a career that began in the 1960s and ended in the 1990s.

But despite Ryan’s long career, he was no longer active when Jeter first broke into the big leagues. Jeter made his Yankees debut in 1995, two years after Ryan retired.

Under Jeter’s reign, there would be no revisionist history of baseball.
