Meet the newest Tigers, starting in the 11th round:

Age: 21.

Important information: 2.01 meters, 88 kilos.

Clubs/throws: Left left.

Prepared: 11th round (#326 overall).

The buzz: Ashman, a tall left-hander, has worked exclusively as a reliever during his three-year college career at Utah, posting a 3.08 ERA with three walks and 26 strikeouts in 26⅓ innings over 24 games through 2024. He’s an elite strike-thrower, but his pitch mix is essentially one pitch. He throws his 93-mph fastball nearly all the time, even though he knows how to throw two other pitches: a slider-curveball hybrid and a below-average changeup. He should develop into a two-pitch reliever as a pro. Ashman will almost certainly throw strikes with his fastball, so if he can develop a slider and add more velocity to his fastball, he could be a factor in high-leverage situations in the major leagues.

Downers Grove North (Illinois) High School SS Jude Warwick

Age: 18.

Important information: 6-1, 170.

Clubs/throws: Left right.

Prepared: 12th round (#356 overall).

The buzz: Warwick, a Michigan State commit, hit .389 with five homers, 12 walks and 14 strikeouts in 143 plate appearances in 36 games in his final season with Downers Grove North. He also had a 1.66 ERA with two walks and 10 strikeouts in 12⅔ innings in seven relief appearances, but his future lies as a position player. Michigan State recruited him as an infielder, but the Tigers drafted him as a shortstop. Warwick, a left-handed hitter, is committed to Michigan State in October 2022.

Age: 19.

Important information: 6-4, 190.

Clubs/throws: Right/right.

Prepared: 13th round (#386 overall).

The buzz: Elissalt, who committed to transfer to Southern Miss, started 15 games for Chipola College as a sophomore in the National Junior College Athletic Association. He registered a 4.85 ERA with 26 walks and 78 strikeouts in 65 innings, and was named Panhandle All-Conference First Team. Elissalt has a mix of four pitches: fastball, curveball, changeup and cutter. His fastball sits around 90 mph. He knows how to locate his pitches, but he will need to improve his pitches to grow as a professional. His 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings ranked 47th among 321 pitchers in the NJCAA rankings.

Age: 22.

Important information: 5-10, 175.

Clubs/throws: Right/right.

Prepared: 14th round (#416 overall).

The buzz: Howey, the younger brother of actress Brianne Howey, completed four seasons with St. Mary’s in the West Coast Conference, totaling 107 innings out of the bullpen over his four-year collegiate career. He posted a 4.26 ERA with 15 walks and 51 strikeouts in 38 innings over 22 games in 2024, averaging 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings. Howey had a combined 6.81 ERA in his four seasons as a member of the Gaels.

Age: 20.

Important information: 6-1, 195.

Clubs/throws: Right/right.

Prepared: 15th round (#446 overall).

The buzz: MacDonald attended Portage Central High School, where he set the school home run record, in Portage, Michigan, before enjoying a strong three-year career at Miami University of Ohio, where he continued to hit home runs. MacDonald hit 10 homers as a freshman, 13 homers as a sophomore and 20 homers as a junior. His 20 homers as a junior were tied for second in program history for a single season, trailing Mike Ferris’ 21 homers in 2004. He also finished one homer shy of tying the program record for a career, set by Michael Carlin with 44 homers from 2000-03. As a junior, MacDonald also batted .337 with 36 walks and 53 strikeouts in 54 games, stealing 15 bases in 18 attempts. He also hit his way into four two-homer games.

RHP Anson Seibert from Blue Valley Southwest (Kansas) High School

Age: 18.

Important information: 6-8, 235.

Clubs/throws: Left right.

Prepared: 16th round (#476 overall).

The buzz: Seibert, a Tennessee commit, is one of the best high school pitchers in the draft class based on upside, but his stock has fallen out of first-round range due to control issues. If he signs, it would be the steal of the entire draft. But Seibert has been committed to Tennessee since July 2022 and is expected to spend the next two seasons with the Volunteers. He throws a 93-mph fastball that maxes out at 97 mph, bolstered by an above-average drive with elite extension. He also has a high-spin slider that should develop into a dominant secondary pitch. His changeup and curveball round out his four-pitch mix, but those offerings are below average. The hard-throwing southpaw — who is about to turn 19 — is committed to Tennessee and will be eligible for the draft again in 2026 as a sophomore in college. By then, he could be a first-round pick with the potential to go high in the draft. Seibert has incredible potential, but he still has a long way to go before he’s ready.

Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy (Puerto Rico) High School C Gabriel Rosado

Age: 18.

Important information: 6-1, 180.

Clubs/throws: Left right.

Prepared: 17th round (No. 506 in total).

The buzz: Rosado — from Ponce, Puerto Rico — has committed to San Jacinto College — located in Pasadena, Texas — in the NJCAA, but he can skip the college route by signing with the Tigers. As a catcher, he is considered above average in his throwing accuracy and arm strength. He is ranked the fourth-best high school player from Puerto Rico in his class, according to Perfect Game. He is also ranked the 385th-best high school player, as well as the 42nd-best catcher, in his class.

Age: 19.

Important information: 6-4, 215.

Clubs/throws: Right/right.

Prepared: 18th round (#536 overall).

The buzz: Alewine graduated from East Coweta High School in Georgia and then enrolled at Southern Union State — an NJCAA program in Alabama — for his freshman season in 2024, posting a 4.86 ERA with 22 walks and 48 strikeouts in 66⅔ innings in 14 starts. His 6.48 strikeouts per nine innings ranked 270th among 321 pitchers in the NJCAA rankings. He went undrafted in the 2023 MLB draft.

Leon (Florida) High School LHP Chase Davis

Age: 17.

Important information: 6-2, 210.

Clubs/throws: Left left.

Prepared: 19th round (#566 overall).

The buzz: Davis, who doesn’t turn 18 until late August, has been committed to South Alabama since September 2022, meaning the Tigers would have to sign him off the college route to sign him. He’s been a two-way player his entire high school career, but is built to be a pitcher in the future. As a senior, Davis had a 2.33 ERA with five walks and 25 strikeouts in 18 innings over six games (one start). He also had a 3.77 ERA in 42⅔ innings as a sophomore and a 1.53 ERA in 59⅔ innings as a junior. On offense, Davis hit .225 with three home runs, 13 walks and 15 strikeouts in 22 games during his senior campaign, but the Tigers drafted him to be a left-handed pitcher, not a left-handed hitter.

Eastern Oklahoma State RHP Dawson Price

Age: 19.

Important information: 6-5, 215.

Clubs/throws: Right/right.

Prepared: 20th round (#596 in total).
