Several events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including soccer, handball and rugby, have already begun, two days before the opening ceremony turns Paris into a vast, spectacular parade ground. One of the very first matches to be held at the Games is the U.S. men’s rugby team’s first match, when they take on host nation France today (July 24) at 10:30 a.m. ET. The two teams are in Pool C of the men’s competition, which also includes Fiji and Uruguay.

The Rugby Sevens pool stage, as it’s also known, moves along at a breakneck pace; although this is only the first day of competition, each team will compete in two games, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. After playing France, the USA will also play Fiji at 2:30 p.m. ET today, which can be seen live on Peacock or during an encore on USA at 7 p.m. ET.
